Importance of democracy

Democracy is the government of the people,by the people and for the people. The importance of democracy cannot be denied because of the fact that it is imperative not only for political stability but also economic prosperity of the country. Now we are living in a globalized world. It is not feasible for any country to live in isloation. when a country is ruled by a dictator or a king, the chances of state prosperity alleviates because of the fact that kings prefer their personal interests over public interests. In a democratic set up, policies are made in accordance with the changing internal and external scenarios. For the prosperity of a country, vibrant, dynamic, independent and de politicized state institutions are needed. 

Once a party is elected, the prosperity of common men must be the first priority. Adequate performance in human development is required for any country to be at the pinnacle of national glory. In Addition, sincere efforts of the elected members could help people to get constitutional rights. If elected people indulge themselves in corruption and nepotism, the number of people living below povert lives increases with each passing day. Besides, democracy cannot serve its purpose untill parliment is strong and vibrant instituion. Recognizing all the duties, elected people should put their best efforts to work for the prosperity of the country. Other than this, the importance of strong opposition in the the parliment cannot be denied as far as the strengthening of democracy is concerned. Having said this, education should be promoted at all the levels and in every corner of the country to make people realize their rights and duties. If illiteracy rate is high, slipshod policies of the incumbend government could fetch a lot of troubles for the country. if policies are not followed, people are fumed with annoyance and it can paved the way for strikes and dharnas politics. considering the fact that social media has brought much change to the lives of people, people learn lessons from the policies and rules of other counties. Now people do not feel reluctant to criticize the corrupt leaders. In a nutshell, all the elected people should work for the prosperity of people in turn they will get a never ending respect.
